If you use Claude, ChatGPT or Meta Muse, it can help you keep your person’s wall up to date. Just ask in your own words.
What it lets you do
Once it’s connected, your assistant can see what’s on the wall and make the same changes you can make when you sign in to Gentlewall. You might say:
“Add Mom’s eye appointment on Tuesday at 2.”
“Put a note on Mom’s wall: Sara is coming for lunch on Saturday.”
“What’s on Mom’s wall tomorrow?”
It can also add photos, take down an old note, copy plans from a calendar, and tell you when the wall goes dark at night.
How to connect
Every app works the same way: add Gentlewall as a connector with this address, sign in with your Gentlewall email and password, then choose Allow.
Gentlewall’s connector address
https://gentlewall.com/mcp
The sign-in page lists every wall you belong to. There’s nothing to pick: your assistant reaches all of them, with the same role you have on each. Apps rename their menus from time to time, so what you see may be a little different from the steps below.
Claude
On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, open Customize, then Connectors. (Some versions have it under Settings.)
Choose Add, then Add custom connector.
Type “Gentlewall” as the name, paste the address, and choose Continue. Leave the other options as they are and choose Add.
Sign in to Gentlewall when asked, and choose Allow.
In a chat, check that Gentlewall is turned on under the + button, in Connectors.
Works on every Claude plan. Free accounts can add one custom connector. On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds Gentlewall for your organization first, and then you choose Connect next to it.
ChatGPT
On chatgpt.com, open Settings, then Apps (it may say Apps & Connectors).
Open Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
Choose Create app. Type “Gentlewall” as the name, paste the address, and choose OAuth for sign-in.
Sign in to Gentlewall when asked, and choose Allow.
In a chat, open the + menu, choose Developer mode and turn on Gentlewall.
ChatGPT calls these apps, and adding your own needs developer mode, which OpenAI offers on paid plans. Right now, adding and changing things (not just reading) works on Business, Enterprise and Edu plans; on a work plan, an admin may need to turn developer mode on first. OpenAI changes this often, so check its help page on developer mode if you don’t see these options.
Meta Muse
In Muse, open Settings, then Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector and paste the address.
Sign in to Gentlewall when asked, and choose Allow.
Don’t see Add custom connector? Ask Muse in a chat instead: “Please connect to the Gentlewall connector at https://gentlewall.com/mcp. It’s a remote MCP server that uses OAuth sign-in.” Then sign in when Muse opens the Gentlewall page. This is new for Muse, and its menus may differ from these steps.
What admins and members can do
Your assistant can do what you can do on each wall, and nothing more. If you ask for something your role doesn’t allow, it tells you and names the wall’s admins.
Everyone on the wall
See what the wall shows right now
Add, change and remove events, and copy plans from a calendar
Add and remove photos, and change their captions
Post notes and take them down
Read the everyday settings, like night hours, meal times, the reassurance note and the weather ZIP code
Admins can also
Change settings
Read the private context document and add to it (rewriting it stays in Gentlewall)
See and add caregivers. Adding one sends them a welcome text, so your assistant checks with you first.
Add, change and close caregiver reminders
Privacy and safety
It acts as you.
It reaches only the walls you belong to, with the role you have on each.
The TV shows your name.
A note or photo added through your assistant shows as from you, just as if you’d added it yourself. Gentlewall’s own records note which app made each change.
Phone numbers stay private.
Caregivers’ numbers are never shared in full, only the last four digits, and only with admins.
It asks before big changes.
Your assistant checks with you before it deletes anything or posts to the wall.
Members see only everyday settings.
Members can read informational settings, like the reassurance note and the weather ZIP code, but never caregivers, the context document or display links.
You can disconnect any time.
Open Connected apps from your account menu in Gentlewall and choose Disconnect. It stops working right away.
What your assistant reads from the wall becomes part of your chat with that app, so its own privacy policy applies. Keep medical details out of notes on the wall.
Questions and troubleshooting
Do I need to tell it who I am?
No. Once you’ve signed in, your assistant already knows who you are and which walls you can reach from your Gentlewall account. To check, just ask: “Which walls can you see?”
It keeps asking me to sign in.
Use the same email and password you use for Gentlewall. If you’ve forgotten your password, reset it from the Gentlewall sign-in page first. If the sign-in page keeps coming back, remove Gentlewall from the AI app and add it again with the address above.
It says it can’t find my wall.
Your assistant only sees walls you belong to. Call the wall by its name in Gentlewall, like “Mom’s wall”, and if you belong to more than one, say which. If someone just invited you, accept the invitation from your email first, then ask again.
It says only admins can do that.
Changing settings, caregivers, reminders and the context document is for the wall’s admins. Ask one of them to make the change, or to make you an admin.
It stopped working, or I want to start over.
Disconnect and reconnect. In Gentlewall, open Connected apps from your account menu and choose Disconnect. Then remove Gentlewall in the AI app and add it again with the address above.
